Dear Visitor,

An air pilot once said to his passengers “I have bad news and good news for you. The bad news is that the plane’s instruments have failed and we don’t know where we are going, but the good news is that we are making great time.” 😊😊

In Acts 5: 11-20 we read “When they came to Antioch they spoke to the Hellenists, preaching the Lord Jesus.” They could have preached many other things, e.g. politics or sport, but they spoke what was important to them – “the Lord Jesus” was uppermost in their hearts and minds.

Surely this is true discipleship:

To listen and to learn from Him
To follow Him wherever He leads
To be devoted to Jesus by loving Him more than anyone or anything

John 21:15 “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?” What a soul-searching question which we need to respond to every day.

As I share the Word of God each week please pray that the presence and voice of Jesus will be heard and obeyed at all times. Discipleship is not to make people able to live with themselves but it is to make people able to live with God.

Let me close with this exhortation: “But grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen” 2 Peter 3:18)

PS. My precious husband, Cecil, will be turning 80 years old on June 4^th. I cannot believe it! We just praise the Lord for keeping him all these years. The children have sent us air tickets to spend a week with them in Johannesburg and Pretoria to celebrate this momentous occasion. They are also taking us to a game lodge over the weekend. We are so excited to be spending time with them. - J.
