The other day I was reading an article on church growth. The writer points out that Acts 1 started with about 120 believers and in Acts 2 there are more than 3000 believers. If you do the maths this is a growth of almost 2 500% in one day (Radical by David Platt, page 51)! He also traces the growth of early believers in the book of Acts 5. It just amazes me that the Lord added daily those who were being saved (v 14).
We trust that you are well and enjoying the work of the Lord in your life. It truly is a day-by-day experience – probably more like hour by hour considering the state of the world!
Despite our extreme winter the church has picked up attendance with new people attending each week. In the complex where we live, Jeanette loves to visit the homes where there are dogs and enjoys spoiling them with snacks. The other day one of the dog owners asked me if there was a home Bible Study in the area. Result – he now attends our church and comes to our home each Wednesday evening for a Bible Study and discussion. Praise the Lord for a dog’s life!
Thank you for your prayers for this ministry. Besides what the Lord is doing in the church, each week our radio and TV programs are flighted with responses coming from various parts of the world. It is just amazing that a short message, broadcast from the southern tip of Africa, impacts people from France to Australia.
We are both keeping well and rejoicing in the Lord’s faithfulness. The Church is searching for a permanent pastor and is hoping to appoint someone by the end of the year. We don’t know what the future holds but God is Sovereign and we can trust Him with it as He has always been so faithful.
