‘Hello’ from a very windy Port Elizabeth. We thank the Lord for the much-needed rain that fell over the weekend on this drought stricken, thirsty city. It has not filled the empty dams but it did fill our water tanks and for that we are very grateful.
Since September 2021, when we both had cataract ops on both our eyes, health challenges have continued. It seems that we are under severe enemy attack.
Last Friday Jeanette had to go into hospital where, under general anaesthetic, she underwent lumbar and cervical facet pain bloc treatment for the three vertebrae in her neck that have degenerated to such an extent that neck surgery is not possible anymore. Â We are praying that these injections will be the answer to the very bad pain she has been experiencing.
And last week in Johannesburg Cecil’s cardiologist informed him that he has to have a pacemaker. It was supposed to be done there last Thursday but after discussing it realised that it was impractical to have a cardiologist so far away. Next week Cecil has an appointment with a doctor here in Port Elizabeth and the plan is for the pacemaker to be inserted on Monday, October 5th. Please pray that this procedure is successful.
It was wonderful to spend a few days with our children and grandchildren in Johannesburg and Pretoria. What a joy and blessing to be reunited with them again. Life goes by so rapidly that we so easily miss out on the special times with those we love.
Apart from ministry at Trinity Baptist Church Cecil has been invited to participate in the Port Elizabeth city-wide Crusade, September 7-11. Please pray for this outreach as sixty churches will be participating.
