In the ‘Every Day with Jesus’ booklet, on July 29th 2019, (published by Radio Pulpit) we read this interesting comment, “The challenge which Christian people face is to live in the period of time between the promise and fulfilment.”
This is certainly a vital challenge for us these days. What are we doing with the ‘in-between time’? The apostle Paul exhorts us in Ephesians 5:16 to “See that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” In other words, ‘Don’t waste time, use the time you have.’ What a challenge! How sad that so many people spend time on things that are of no real consequence or eternal value.
We trust that the New Year before us will not be a repeat of the burdens of the last two years but rather a year of progress in all our lives, in every respect.
At the end of this week Jeanette and I will be going on our annual vacation and we so look forward to a time of relaxation, rest and refreshment.
