Dear ,
Just when we thought that life was starting to return to normal (whatever that is) suddenly we are faced with a fourth wave of Covid-19, which has been given the name Omicron. Immediately the UK, USA and EU countries, plus others cancelled all flights from South Africa, once again causing untold chaos, disruption and grief to those intending to join loved ones overseas for Christmas.
We just don’t seem to know what is going to happen next. The only certainty in life is ‘uncertainty’. However, for the child of God we stand on the words “My Lord knows the way through the wilderness”. What a great and comforting assurance this is.
Please pray for Jeanette. After the cataract operations she developed “Irvine’s Gass Syndrome in her eyes (inflammation of the macular) resulting in eventually having to have an injection in her left eye. Now she has developed an epiretinal membrane in that eye – not necessarily from the cataract operation. This op is scheduled for Wednesday next week (30th November). She has been told that it will be about 1-2 weeks before she has sight in that eye again. Once again it is an opportunity to trust in God’s grace and mercy.
With Christmas almost here please remember to make Christ the centre figure of the season. May we use the time to ponder on the wonder of the coming Christ-child.
Thank you again for you for the part you play in this ministry through your prayers and financial support.
We remain
Your servants for Jesus’ sake
Cecil & Jeanette
PS. Cecil is flying to Johannesburg on December 5th to see his Cardiologist and to spend time with the children. He returns on December 11th. Please pray for safe travel, protection from disease or the virus and a good report from his Cardiologist.
Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12, 1, 2
