Dear ,
This week former President F W de Klerk passed away. Many are now lauding him for the role he played in the transition from the old regime as well as in the new government.
Everyone believed that a new day had dawned, that we would have a glorious new South Africa. But, alas, it takes more than a new government to change the hearts and lives of people. The problem of sin and sins (prejudice, racism, hatred, etc) can only be addressed and solved in a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
There is an urgent need for a spirit of national repentance and obedience to His laws and righteousness for “righteousness exalts a nation” (Proverbs 14:34). For this to happen the Church of Jesus Christ needs to take the lead as we fulfil what Jesus told His disciples to do (Matthew 28:16-20).
On Tuesday we went for a check- up of our eyes following our cataract operations performed over the past 4 weeks. Cecil sailed through the operations but Jeanette developed a syndrome, common after a cataract op, which caused her to have a problem with her vision. Dr was concerned about Jeanette’s left eye and had to give her an injection into the eye. Originally the problem affected both eyes but, fortunately, vision in the right eye is now perfect and, hopefully, the other eye will also heal perfectly.
This Sunday (14th) Cecil concludes a seven-week series on Bible Prophecy from the Book of Revelation, a very necessary teaching in these crises days. The Bible is always so relevant and up-to-date and gives us such hope for the future.
God bless and keep you under the shadow of His wings.
Sincerely, until He comes
Cecil & Jeanette
