Dear ,
In Luke 21:28 (NJKV) we read “Now when these things begin to happen, lift up your heads because your redemption draws near.”
This past week has been a momentous one with rioting and looting that swept through the Gauteng(Johannesburg) and KZN (Durban) areas, leaving over 200 dead and damage that runs into billions of Rands. How tragic that this could have happened! However, I believe that some important truths can be drawn from the events:
- A spirit of lawlessness is at work – Matthew 24:12
- The work of the lawless one is exposed – 2 Thessalonians 2:8
- Evil forces are at work – Ephesians 6:12
- A wake-up call has been sounded.
- A new spirit of unity has resulted as people from all ethnic groups throughout the country are pulling together to clean-up, restore and rebuild what was destroyed.
Here is a message for us all. In the meantime, we all need to keep on doing what God has called us to do – to serve in His Kingdom, a Kingdom of which there is no end, and to pray fervently.
