Dear ,
A reporter in the USA asked people in the street what Easter meant to them. Here are some of their replies:
- Bunny rabbits, chocolates and fun time family outing.
- Egg hunt and dinner with family.
- A religious holiday.
Only one person of all those interviewed said, “the resurrection of Jesus Christ”.
It is so sad to think that millions will reject Easter as a ritualistic event, a long weekend, a time of rest and recreation, thereby missing the significance of the event – that Jesus Christ came down to earth to die on the cross for our sins and after three days He arose again. “I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen.  And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.” (Revelation 1:8). And He is coming back soon to rule and reign on the earth!
I always remember Easter because it was at an Easter Youth Camp at the Igoda River resort, outside the city of East London (South Africa), that I received Christ as Saviour in 1959. So, it is my 62nd spiritual birthday this year! The call to ministry followed soon after that. Looking back over the years, the Lord has opened many doors of service for which I am eternally grateful.
Along the way we have been blessed with faithful friends who have stood with us in prayer and faithful support and for this we are sincerely grateful – thank you so much.
Remember, “because He lives we can face tomorrow”.
Wishing you and yours a glorious Easter weekend.
With much love
Cecil & Jeanette
